please help with this chemistry problem about half lives!i have a test in a hour!!?
im not sure if im doing it correct but heres the question
A doctor needs 3.50 grams of a radioactive tracer for a patient. How much does the lab need to prepare if the half life of the tracer is 20 minutes and the shipping time is 4.5 hours?
I got 57344.... what did you get? please help!!
You're correct. 4.5 hours divided by 20 minutes means you need 13.5 half-life cycles.
I don't know how you got 57344 but when you divide it by half 13.5 times it comes out to 3.5g which is what you want. Great job! Tell me how you got 57344?!
