Resting pulse of 45 bmp?
I have a resting pulse of 45 bps (while in bed) and about 49 while just sitting in a chair mid day. I'm wondering if I should talk to a doctor about this, or have it checked out in any way.
I don't experience any symptoms like dizziness or fainting. If it weren't for me checking my pulse, I wouldn't have noticed it. And I have no diseases that I know of, or prior medical conditions.
I'm in pretty good shape, I work out 3-6 times a week, mostly strength. And go hiking from time to time. 19 years old, body fat percentage of 8.9%, BMI of about 20.
It may or may not be normal. People who engage in exercise on a daily basis, or a vagirous exercise, the HR can be low at all times. It should, however, go up during exercise.
You are young and it is likely to be normal. However, there are several heart-related problems that may cause low HR (blocks, arrhythmias, sick sinus syndrome etc) and to rule these out, you need to check with your doc. You will need baseline ECG, plus minus ECHO. Gud luk!
