How many helium balloons would it take to lift a 140 pound person sitting in a light lawn chair?
Alright, I'm not fat, I'm pretty average weight for my age, I'm about 140 lbs. and I want to buy a helium machine and fill a bunch of balloons to a basic light lawn chair and float. I don't want to go flying, but maybe be a few feet off the ground. I know it sounds stupid, all I want is an answer to my question.
I don't know the answer but I suppose you could do a few test experiments to find out. Get something that weighs less and see how many balloons it takes to lift that and then do some math to see the approximate number needed to life you and the lawn chair. (Ex. If it took like 5 balloons to lift 1 pound (I have no idea if this is anywhere close) you would have to multiply 140 by 5). Try to keep all the balloons you use the same size when you blow them up. It will eliminate the amount of error you'll have when you do your calculations.
I'm tempted to try this myself but I don't have any helium at the moment....or balloons...
