My cat has just started watching her feet when she walks and won't lift her head up. Any ideas?
Otherwise she seems to be fine. I would appreciate any help you can offer.
Can your cat lift her head up? Does she hold it up lifted when sitting upright or in the meatloaf position? Is she wobbling at all? How old is she? Indoor/Outdoor?
There could be a number of reasons for not being able to hold her head up, and they range from the simple of a shoulder/neck/muscle strain to nutrient deficiency and get worse from there. Any number of ailments could be the cause, but I would tend to think "head" somehow. Perhaps she has some visual problems, or has vestibular issues so needs to watch each paw movement because she's a little unbalanced, an ear infection, brain issues. Hyperthyroidism frequently causes a cat to hang its head, as does anemia and renal failure.
If this continues for more than 24 hours, I would most certainly urge you to see a vet and have your cat checked. When was the last time you had a blood workup done? If it has been a few years it would probably worthwhile to get one done.
