Does the rest of the world think that americans are stupid?

All the time I watch Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" and americans don't know basic things about our own history! This is SO embarrassing. The U.S. seems to be the most uneducated country in the world... But I can guarantee that not ALL americans are like this... I'm 18 and I'm a very educated american. But on the other hand I go to one of the highest ranking high schools in the U.S., so the rest of the country might not get as good of an education as me... Anyway can anyone from outside the U.S. tell me what you're country thinks of us americans?

I live in the UK, although I also lived in America for many years. Believe me, there are (proportionally) as many stupid people here as there are in America. By stupid, I do NOT mean uneducated. Those not blessed with means to acquire a good formal education can still choose to learn useful concepts which benefit themselves and others. I mean people who literally don't care to learn anything useful........friviolous, shallow, infantile people who refuse to learn from their own many mistakes and yet want to be supported at the expense of others. Stupidity knows no racial/ethnic/cultural/ or religious boundaries. Sadly, a certain percentage of the human race appears to be stupid.

As for America, it appears there are many people in other countries who want to go there, or to have what Americans have . Some of these people don't want to work for it...they just want it to be given to them. Others are willing to immigrate and work very hard to have a share in the culture Amercans have created. So, Americans (as a whole) can't be THAT stupid, can they? What they are is a bit smug, self-centred, can't see why they should be interested in anywhere else when they're living in a country and a culture they like. Perhaps Americans should realise that they are (genetically and culturally) the product of many other cultures from around the world . Giving these other cultures some credit would go a long way in making Americans more internationally likeable.
